Questions Before You Start

Smart Home Systems FAQ

Practical answers to help you decide the next step.

Can smart systems be added to an existing home?

Often yes. The available options depend on wiring, device compatibility and the level of building work acceptable.

Will I still have normal wall switches?

A good system remains intuitive for guests and everyday use. Physical controls can work alongside app and voice features.

Can you work while I am outside Spain?

Yes. We can organise approvals, scheduled photo updates and key decisions remotely, with one person responsible for communication.

Is the online estimate a final quotation?

No. It is a planning range. The written quotation follows a review of access, dimensions, existing conditions, specifications and the exact scope.

Which areas do you cover?

We work in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and selected locations across the southern Costa Blanca. Send the address and we will confirm coverage.

Will the system still work if the internet goes down?

It should. We plan systems so the core functions — lights, blinds, climate — keep working locally even when the connection drops. What you lose is remote control from your phone until it comes back, not the ability to switch a light on in the room you are standing in.

Is a smart home useful for a property I rent out?

That is where it pays for itself fastest here. Remote door access removes key handovers, climate limits stop the air conditioning running at 16°C with the terrace door open, and leak sensors warn you before a small problem becomes a claim.

Do I have to commit to one brand for everything?

No, and we would advise against locking everything into a single ecosystem. We plan the essentials around a stable wired or standards-based core, then let phones and voice assistants sit on top. That way changing your phone does not mean changing your house.

Can this be installed without rewiring the property?

Partly. Wireless devices cover a lot — lighting, sensors, climate control, cameras. Anything that switches significant load, or that you want reliable for years, is better wired. We tell you which parts genuinely need cable and which do not.
