Builders in Cabo Roig: compact pools and finishes chosen for the coast

Cabo Roig plots are close to the coast, and the pool we built there is a compact one. That makes the size of the pool the first decision, and the finish — chosen with salt air in mind — the second. This page shows the pool we built there and walks through how size changes what you get and what you pay in 2026.

Short answer

Creator Company Alicante S.L. (N.I.F. B26705343), based in Torrevieja, has published a finished 4×3 m pool in Cabo Roig, about 12 m² of water, with photographs. 2026 list prices, before IVA: the nearest list size, 5×3 m, is €13,500, and 6×3 m is €14,500; the terrace around a new pool usually adds €2,000–5,000. Cabo Roig is part of the municipality of Orihuela, which charges the construction tax ICIO at 4% of the cost of the works.

Cabo Roig is one of the districts of Orihuela Costa. That page covers the whole coast; this one is about the one thing our Cabo Roig work is about — a compact pool close to the coast — and for villa renovation in the neighbouring district see La Zenia.

The pool we built in Cabo Roig

At 4×3 m this is a plunge-size pool. It is for cooling off and sitting in the water rather than swimming lengths, which suits a plot where the terrace matters as much as the water, and it keeps running costs and water treatment to a minimum. The project page also notes that Cabo Roig plots are close to the coast, so the finishes were chosen with salt air in mind.

What each extra metre gets you

On a compact plot the question is usually how large a pool the garden still allows with a usable terrace. Water area by size, with our 2026 list prices:

SizeWater2026 priceWhat it is for
4×3 m (the Cabo Roig project)about 12 m²confirmed in the written quotationPlunge pool: cooling off, small plots
5×3 mabout 15 m²€13,500Smallest list size
6×3 mabout 18 m²€14,500Children and adults together, terrace on two sides
7×3 mabout 21 m²€16,500Longer garden, room to cross the pool
8×4 mabout 32 m²€18,500A few strokes, floating, sunbathing area

The step from 5×3 m to 6×3 m is €1,000 for three more square metres of water, the cheapest upgrade on the list; moving to 7×3 m adds another €2,000. All eight sizes are on the prices page, and how the pool price is built is in how much a pool costs on the Costa Blanca. A 4×3 m pool is not one of the eight list sizes, so its price is confirmed in the written quotation after the site visit.

Building near the sea

For a pool or terrace close to the coast we choose finishes that cope with salt air, and we confirm access, ground conditions and the exact scope on site rather than from photos. In practice the questions are:

  • Access and excavation. Can a machine reach the plot? We review access and excavation separately from the list price, on site.
  • Terrace. The paving is laid in the same job so levels and drainage meet the pool edge; around a new pool it usually adds €2,000–5,000.
  • Equipment. Filtration, circulation and lighting preparation are planned with the pool, so they are not retrofitted into a finished garden.

Within Orihuela Costa the closest published comparisons for a small coastal plot are the Los Dolses 6×3 pool with terrace, the Los Dolses 7×3 pool and the La Zenia 6×3 pool with terrace. Beyond pools, we renovate kitchens (from €800 per linear metre) and bathrooms (€4,800–14,000) in Orihuela Costa; see what a kitchen costs and what a bathroom costs.

Permits

Cabo Roig is governed by the Ayuntamiento de Orihuela. Renovation without structural work goes by a declaración responsable; structural work needs it with a certificate from an architect or engineer; a new house needs a full licence. ICIO is 4% of the cost of the works. If the property is in an urbanisation with a community of owners, check its statutes for pools and terraces before planning. The routes are explained in the guide to building licences on the Costa Blanca.

More guides for owners here: cosmetic refresh or full renovation, rewiring and plumbing in an older property, smart home costs and repairs while you live abroad.

Also: IVA 10% or 21% and the 4% ICIO, how long a renovation takes, renovating to let or sell and how to check a builder before you sign.

Questions we get asked

Do you build pools in Cabo Roig?

Yes. Creator Company has published a finished 4×3 m pool in Cabo Roig with photographs, and builds pools throughout Orihuela Costa from its office in Torrevieja.

What is the smallest pool you build, and what does it cost?

The smallest size on our 2026 list is 5×3 m at €13,500, before IVA; 6×3 m is €14,500. Smaller formats such as the 4×3 m pool in Cabo Roig are priced in the written quotation after a site visit.

Does the sea air change how the pool is finished?

Cabo Roig plots are close to the coast, so on our Cabo Roig pool the finishes were chosen with salt air in mind. We pick the finish for each plot after seeing it.

Is a 4×3 m pool big enough to be worth building?

At about 12 m² of water it is a plunge pool: good for cooling off and sitting in the water, not for swimming lengths. It suits smaller plots, keeps running costs and water treatment low and leaves more of the garden for terrace. If you want to swim a few strokes, the 8×4 m size (about 32 m², €18,500) is where that starts.
