El Valle Golf Villa
A complete villa renovation on the golf course: the pool rebuilt with a hardwood deck, the facade opened up with black aluminium glazing, and every bathroom finished in microcement.
Completed villa renovation in El Valle Golf
This is the reference to look at if you are buying an older villa on a golf urbanisation and want to know how far a renovation can take it. The house kept its footprint and its roof line; everything else changed — openings, terrace levels, pool, interior finishes and the whole outdoor living area.
The glazing is the change that does the most work. Replacing narrow openings with full-height black aluminium sliding units turns dark rooms into rooms that read as part of the terrace, and it is also the item that most affects the budget: large slim-frame units with thermal break cost several times what standard windows cost. The pool was rebuilt with a hardwood deck on one side and porcelain on the other, so the water has both a warm barefoot edge and a hard-wearing dining surface. Inside, the bathrooms are finished in microcement rather than tile, which removes grout lines but requires a properly prepared substrate and a skilled applicator.
