San Miguel Villa
A country villa above San Miguel de Salinas: exposed roof beams kept and cleaned, floors relaid throughout, a marble-effect bathroom added and the terrace repaved.
Completed villa renovation in San Miguel de Salinas
Not every renovation should erase what is already there. This villa had a good roof structure with exposed timber beams and generous window openings onto the garden — both were kept, and the work concentrated on the surfaces and services that had aged badly.
Floors were relaid in a warm large-format porcelain that carries from the living room out onto the terrace, which visually doubles the room. The main bathroom was rebuilt in book-matched marble-effect porcelain with a walk-in shower, wall-hung WC and a backlit round mirror. Outside, an outdoor shower was built into the boundary wall in the same porcelain — a small detail that costs little during a renovation and is expensive to add afterwards.
